This three-week residency allows participants to deepen their creative practice and expand their skill set through faculty led workshops, group gatherings, and one-on-one sessions with senior faculty. Take time to shape your vision for your next project.

Green Jobs Internship Program for Youth & Employers
GREEN JOBS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR YOUTH & EMPLOYERS
Support the transition to a green future! Employers across Canada can provide young interns with work experience in science, technology and related fields. Transform the future of energy, forestry, geosciences, mining and more.
INDIGENOUS YOUTH – AGED 15-30 –
Paid green internships are available to Indigenous youth.
• No prior education or experience required.
• Full-time positions across Canada, and in northern, and remote communities
INDIGENOUS EMPLOYERS IN THE NATURAL RESOURCE SECTOR –
• Receive up to 75% in federal wage subsidies.
• Eligible natural resources sector positions include those with a positive environmental impact.
• Funding available to non-federal organizations, including Band Councils, NGOs, and private and public sector groups.

Katimavik programs available – The National Experience and FuturePerfect
Katimavik offers two programs with different objectives for youth across Canada: the National Experience and FuturePerfect.
The National Experience – . For 22 weeks, the program allows Participants aged 17 to 25 to live in two new communities, volunteer, meet other youth from across the country and become supporters of Truth and Reconciliation with Indigenous peoples. Two cohorts of Katimavik’s National Experience take place each year: from January to June, and from July to December. To participate, one must be between 17 and 25 years old at the beginning of the cohort and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or landed refugee.
FuturePerfect – a 14-week employment training program for those who wish to lay the foundation for their professional career. Open to youth between the ages of 18 and 30, Katimavik provides participants with 10 days of employability training before they leave for their new host community.

Akunumustiǂis -Natural Law – Ecological Engagement Through the Seasons – 2023

This four week residency engages eight visual artist participants in a land-based, observational learning that will support the artist to develop and create a project drawing from their artistic practice that will inform the cultural narratives of this region. The artists will have access to a studio to support the creation of their project.
The project is reconciliation-based through the empowerment of Indigenous artists, working with institutions through a process that allows for meaningful engagement with the land; including Banff National Park, Parks Canada and local Knowledge Keepers. Working together, the process encourages knowledge exchange and centres Indigenous ways of knowing.

First Nations Net Zero Communities Workshop – August 9-11, 2023
Taykwa Tagamou Nation in partnership with Oneida Nation of the Thames is hosting a First Nations Net Zero Communities Workshop from August 9-11 2023 in Cochrane, Ontario. This event is an opportunity for up to 20 First Nations Communities to learn from industry experts and other Communities about pathways to Net Zero Energy, including renewables and retrofitting.
All expenses will be covered by up to 2 representatives from each community to attend. This Workshop is funded by the Smart Renewables and Electrification Pathways Program at Natural Resources Canada.
