ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS – What you need to apply:
• Must be an Albertan resident
• A class 5 drivers’ license (recommended)
We do not require a high school diploma for this program; however, applicants will take an assessment for basic math, science, and reading skills and will need to meet a minimum score.
Applicants will also need to complete a variety of steps as  part of their application.

PROGRAM COST
• Tuition for this program is sponsored by the Government of Alberta
• Additional funding and awards may be available to support living expenses while in the program.

Indigenous History & Heritage Gathering

The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR) and the First Nations Confederacy of Cultural Education Centres (FNCCEC) are proud to host the Indigenous History and Heritage Gathering (IHHG). This gathering, presented through the gracious support of Know History, is one of the many important events held during Indigenous History Month.

The Indigenous History and Heritage Gathering will attract Indigenous community members developing history and heritage projects, and anyone working in the field of Indigenous History, including museum professionals, historians, legal counsel, engagement specialists, and culture and language professionals.

Speakers include keynotes by Tanya Talaga, Author, Journalist, and President of Makwa Creative and Kim Murray, Special Interlocutor on Missing Children and Unmarked Burials. We invite all interested in amplifying the distinct stories of Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island to register now.

The program will centre around four main themes:

Historic Claims – Realizing Indigenous truths in institutions, justice, and archiving

  • Residential and Day Schools – Researching, commemoration, and honouring data sovereignty
  • Language and Culture – Research for revitalization and practices for inclusive storytelling in institutions
  • Place and Naming – Mapping and reclaiming places and names

Power Engineer Career Accelerator is an introductory program of basic safety certifications and workplace readiness.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
• Applicants must meet Lakeland College’s
Power Engineer program requirements
• Successful completion of fitness screening (35lb lift/carry)
• Successful completion of drug & alcohol assessment
• Alberta Class 5 Drivers’ License
Applicants will also need to complete a variety of steps as part of their application.

Join 10 of your peers to discover Canada through the National Experience program! Five and a half months of volunteering, learning and discovery await you.

The National Experience program is a fully funded opportunity. Travel, housing and the day-to-day expenses of Participants are covered by the program. All you need to bring is your dedication,l empathy and willingness to build the country you want to live in!

The Katimavik National Experience challenges young people in Canada with a trans formative experience to empower them to become:
