First Nations Net Zero Communities Workshop – August 9-11, 2023

Taykwa Tagamou Nation in partnership with Oneida Nation of the Thames is hosting a First Nations Net Zero Communities Workshop from August 9-11 2023 in Cochrane, Ontario. This event is an opportunity for up to 20 First Nations Communities to learn from industry experts and other Communities about pathways to Net Zero Energy, including renewables and retrofitting.

All expenses will be covered by up to 2 representatives from each community to attend. This Workshop is funded by the Smart Renewables and Electrification Pathways Program at Natural Resources Canada.

Cowboy Smithx will present the “Avatriix (ah-vay-tree) Methodology,” a philosophical approach to all things composition and creativity.

Cowboy will also introduce the world to “Aeontagonism” an original philosophical practice in career-long multidisciplinary universe building that challenges antiquated story-structures from the “old world.”

Indigenous Virtual Market for Vendors – Applications are open until May 21st 2023

As part of the Banff Centre’s celebrations in June for National Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we will be hosting an Indigenous Virtual Marketplace. The Marketplace will open on June 1st at noon and remain open for the entire month of June. Community members can engage with Indigenous vendors and make purchases directly on vendor’s websites.

Submitting your application is free! – All Indigenous artisans are encouraged to apply. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis so submit early!

Indigenous Youth Internship Program (IYIP)

BC Public

Internships will begin on September 11, 2023, and end on August 31, 2024.
Internships may be located in Vancouver, Victoria, or multiple communities around the Province of BC, depending on positions and operational requirements.

Find out more about the program, its people and successes, and submit your application before May 31, 2023. You will learn many aspects of public service and provincial government processes, participate in workshops across the province, develop your leadership and professional skills and create a path for your future education and career development.

The Indigenous Youth Internship Program (IYIP) will launch its 17th year in the public service this September. The one-year opportunity – led by the BC Public Service Agency – welcomes exceptional Indigenous youth ages 19-29 and supports you through:
• Nine months of work in a ministry.
• Three months of work at an Indigenous organization in BC.
